Recipe for Cornmeal Biscuits

Sift 1 1/4 cups white flour, 3/4 cup white cornmeal, 1/2 teasp. salt, 4 teasps. baking powder, and 1 tbsp. sugar. Chop in 2 tbsps. butter, add 1 beaten egg to a scant 1/2 cup milk, and add to flour and make a soft dough. Roll 1/4 inch thick, cut in rounds, butter half, turn over, pinch round edge and bake.
