Sponge Cake Recipe
Ingredients
- 6 eggs
- 3 cups sugar
- grated rind and juice of 1/2 lemon
- 3/4 cup cold water
- 3 cups flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
Beat yolks of eggs until thick; add sugar, rind and juice of lemon, water, flour sifted with salt and baking powder. When well blended, cut and fold in the beaten whites of eggs. Bake in two greased pans.
